Cutaneous adverse effects of chemotherapy in cancer patients: A clinico epidemiological study

With chemotherapy being the major modality of treatment, cutaneous and systemic side effects have been a concern for not only patients, but also treating clinicians. Because target cancer cells, other rapidly proliferating skin appendages like hair nails are most commonly affected. : To study adverse events associated with used drugs. 120 patients clinically diagnosed who underwent satisfied inclusion exclusion criteria were included in this observational study. Photographic images skin, taken before after every cycle collected. Data analysed using SPSS version 16.0. including 72 females 48 males majority (56%) belonging to age group 55-70 years. The common indications carcinoma breast (34%), oropharynx (22%) stomach (12%).Hair changes presentation, reported 38 35 cases, nail 15 cases. Xerosis (46%) hyperpigmentation observed event affecting skin. Since all agents based, become inevitable.
